About 65-hundred dollars was raised by Salinas firefighters to help find a cure for prostate and testicular cancers. The month-long cancer awareness campaign was part of the worldwide “Movember” effort, in which participants grew out their moustaches. This year was the first year Salinas firefighters participated, with about 2 dozen firefighters growing mustaches. Salinas Fire was among the top firefighters fund-raising groups in the country.
