officials with the city of salinas are working to develop a committee to help workers affected by capital one’s impending departure from the city. capital one announced wednesday that the salinas operation would be shut down by mid-2013, displacing 850 workers. the office of employment training is assembling a response team to help the workers find new jobs. capital one is providing the city with 1 million dollars and 600-thousand dollars in workforce development grants.
