The Salinas City Council voted yesterday to come up with a solution preventing residents from having to pay for public sidewalk repairs. Salinas mayor, Dennis Donohue, proposed creating a resident’s led panel dedicated to addressing the city’s growing number of damaged sidewalks. Several solutions were presented including asking the council to pass an ordinance that would put the financial burden, or part of it, on the shoulders of property owners.
