Santa Cruz County workers this morning tore down the green fence that blocked access to a walkway near Rio Del Mar beach. The move came after the county was unable to work out a compromise with neighbors and were instead met with lawsuit threats. But because the fence was on public property, diplomacy eventually gave way to tearing down the controversial fence.
