In a reforestation effort, 50,000 seedlings are being grown so they can be planted in the CZU burn scar area of last summer ’s fires in Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties. The wildfire burned 86,509 acres. The distribution of the seedlings is slated to be done by the Santa Cruz Resource Conser vation District.
