Recall of Pajaro Valley School Trustee Georgia Acosta Now Underway 04-21-21 01:25 DC

A recall election to oust Pajaro Vall ey Unified School District Trustee Georgia Acosta has gotten underway this week. The Committee to Recall Georgia Acosta gives the controversial trustee a failing mark and offers multiple reasons why she should be removed from office

Among them:

  • Acosta has reportedly missed 26 board meetings since her election in November 2020.
  • She used outside legal counsel at a cost of $16,000 which the district refused to pay.
  • The firing of Superintendent Michelle Rodriguez and later her reinstatement.

Acosta represents trustee area 2 on the seven-member board.

For the recall effort to move forward, it would need 25% of the registered 8,600 voters in her district to qualify for a special election ballot.

The estimated cost for a special election would be somewhere between $42,960 and $77,328.
