With the rainfall on Sunday at almost 3/4 of an inch, Santa Cruz County experienced downed power lines, power outages, and car crashes. Lines were reportedly down in near the summit, in Felton, and Lompico, where over 250 customers were without power for several hours. Traffic accidents ranged from minor, to a multi-car pile up on Highway 17 and a double fatality on Highway 129.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather warning for Santa Cruz County for the coming week with heavy rain tomorrow and possible thunderstorms through Wednesday.
