Rabies in bats, MCO 09/02/11 5:30p.m. TDH

Authorities in Monterey have announced that 2-bats that were caught in the carmel area recently, tested positive for rabies.   The bats were caught near carmel and carmel valley within the last 2-months.   Dogs and cats in Monterey county are required to be vaccinated against rabies.   Anyone who is concerned can contact the Monterey county health department.
