A new bill has been introduced that would aim to prevent repeat DUI offenses. The legislation proposes the installation of breathalyzers in the cars of first-time DUI offenders. If the breathalyzer detects any alcohol in the driver’s system, the vehicle will not start. Officials report the device reduces the rate of future DUI arrests by 70 percent. If the bill is approved, first time-offenders will be required to use the breathalyzer for six months.
