October 23, 2015: Seaside Residents Warned About Telephone Scam

(08:28) SEASIDE – Seaside police are warning the public about a telephone scam. Residents have been receiving an automated recording on their phones, telling them that they owe money to the IRS. Victims have been threatened with arrest, deportation, or suspension of a business or driver’s license .The IRS is reminding the public that it does not ask for credit card information over the phone or request pre-paid debit card or wire transfers.
