October 1, 2015 San Lorenzo Health Advisory

(21:10)SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz health officials are warning the public of a toxic algae bloom in the lower San Lorenzo river lagoon. Recent test indicate high levels of toxins produced by the blue-green bloom near the trestle by the mouth of the river. Residents are advised to stay out of the water and to keep pets from drinking from the lagoon. The toxins can cause respiratory, intestinal, and liver problems. The rest of the river is un affected.
