Obama Administration Aiming to Simplify FAFSA- 1/29/15 7:00 S.G.

The Obama Administration is taking steps to simplify the FAFSA for students nationwide. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid helps students across the country access millions of dollars in financial assistance. However, more than a million students fail to fill out the FAFSA, which requires answering up to 108 questions, about taxes, employment, and even criminal history. The Obama Administration has proposed eliminating 27 questions. A bill currently in Congress would replace the FAFSA with a postcard asking two questions about household size and income.
