(06:00) SEASIDE – A Seaside man was arrested for attempted kidnapping on Friday. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. at Church’s Chicken on Fremont Boulevard. Salvador Perez allegedly attempted to abduct a 3-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy at the restaurant. A witness then tackled the suspect, but he was able to escape and flee the scene. Perez was located and apprehended shortly after on the 400 block of Elm Street. He was booked into Monterey County Jail. (S.G.)
