New U.C. – Santa Cruz Provost (and Executive Vice Chancellor) Marlene Tromp, plans to bridge the gap between u-c-s-c, and the local business community. Tromp will be in charge of managing the university’s budget, organizing its long term plan, and creating academic programs. Because the university is one of the largest employers in the county, and because those gaps do need to be bridged, the president of the Santa Cruz Chamber Of Commerce (which works to create economic opportunities for local businesses and people) plans to open the dialogue with Tromp.
