(16:00) Santa Cruz- Starting in March the Santa Cruz Police Department will be attempting a new strategy of policing. In what is called “Neighborhood Policing” the city of Santa Cruz will be divided into 5 parts, with each area headed by a different lieutenant. This effort is being taken in the hope that these separate lieutenants will be able to focus on their designated areas unique problems and needs in the attempt to reduce overall crime in Santa Cruz.
