A national homeless census is currently underway, to determine the actual number of homeless in California Communities. This week, dozens of volunteers helped count homeless residents in San Benito County. The official numbers are expected to be released in spring. Hollister’s Mayor, Ignacio Velazquez, is working on a plan to assist homeless residents by building single occupant homes complete with a kitchen and bathroom.
