The building owner of a former Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant claims his former tenant vandalized the place before it officially closed it’s doors this week. Nino Palma said he evicted Tene Shake, the former owner of Isabella’s restaurant, because he was always late with his rent. Palma claims Shake left him with over $100,000 worth of damages after the restaurant officially shut down Monday. Palma found rotting vegetables and seafood still sitting in the kitchen when he walked in Tuesday, along with windows covered in white paint, dirty dishes piled throughout the restaurant and paintings and shelves ripped from the walls. Shake meanwhile denies any wrongdoing saying he left because his lease was up.
