Monterey Atty Charged with Wire Fraud 06-17-20 16:58 DC

A Monterey attorney has been charged with wire fraud by federal prosecutors.

John Arthur Hudson, an attorney also known as Art Hudson and J.A. Hudson, has been accused of trying to receive fraudulent loans involving a trust he administered.

According to the US Attorney, between April 2011 and June 2018, Hudson took out nearly $700,000 in loans while pledging a property on Fillmore Street in San Francisco as security and falsely representing that the loan proceeds would be used to improve the property.

Hudson is charged with wire fraud and faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
