May 31, 2016: Numerous Citations, One Arrest in Monterey County Enforcement Campaign

(07:28) SALINAS – Monterey County law enforcement agencies conducted a DUI enforcement campaign over the weekend. Beginning on May 26th, the Avoid the 20 Task Force set up a checkpoint at the DMV on East Laurel Drive in Salinas. During the campaign, officers contacted a total of 915 drivers. Eight were cited for driving on a suspended license and 18 were cited for driving unlicensed. Motorcycle officers in the area pulled over 52 drivers and issued over two dozen citations. Another driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The Avoid the 20 DUI Task Force will next deploy checkpoints and DUI patrols during the Independence Day Holiday. (S.G.)
