(15:25)CARMEL- The driver of a tractor-trailer truck that crashed south of Carmel on Thursday has been arrested. Authorities say that 59 year old Robert William Lane was under the influence of prescription drugs when he hit a tree and went off a 300 foot cliff near Soberanes Point. Lane’s two passengers were seriously injured in the crash. Highway 1 was completely closed for 75 minutes four miles south of Carmel on Friday while the truck was recovered. Lane was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury.
