Old mattresses and box springs can be dropped off for free on Saturday in Santa Cruz. That is part of the Bye Bye Mattress state program that began collecting in Santa Cruz in 2016 to reduce the number of mattresses illegally dumped. Drop offs will be at 207 Natural Bridges Drive from 8 a.m. to noon. Mattresses can also be dropped off for free from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Resource Recovery Facility at 605 Dimeo Lane.
