(11:41) WATSONVILLE – A man was arrested in Watsonville Thursday afternoon for possessing drugs and a firearm while on probation. Officers were patrolling the 1000 block of South Green Valley Road when they spotted known felon 28-year-old Javier Chavez. Police contacted Chavez and conducted a probation compliance check. A search of his vehicle recovered methamphetamine, a rifle, a loaded shotgun, and ammunition. Chavez was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.(S.G.)
