(12:02) SANTA CRUZ – Highway 1 in Santa Cruz was briefly shut down in both directions this morning while authorities responded to a report of a suicidal subject. CHP and deputies were dispatched to the Soquel Avenue bridge around 10:15 a.m. after witnesses reported seeing a woman preparing to jump off the overpass. All lanes were closed in both directions while deputies detained the subject. The highway was fully reopened by 10:45. (S.G.)
