A Santa Cruz area school has made the 2018 California Distinguished Schools list. Live Oak Elementary School and The Live Oak Elementary School District were named among 287 other schools for making exceptional gains in implementing academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education. The list is compiled from state elementary schools performance and progress which include test scores, suspension rates, and learning progress.
