King City police officer Mark Mottu resigned after being convicted of embezzlement. On Wednesday, Mottu entered a plea of no contest to charges stemming from his role in a appropriating department assets. City officials also Mottu formerly tendered his resignation last Friday. Mottu had been on paid administrative leave since his arrest in February in 2014.
