Salinas Police officers rescued a 19-year-old woman early yesterday morning, who had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The victim was reported missing just after midnight, after she didn’t return home from work. Police say their investigation led them to a converted garage on the 7-hundred block of Garner Avenue, where they found the victim, along with a 19-year-old suspect. The man, Ernesto Cruz was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail. The victim was treated at a local hospital. Police believe at least 1-other person was involved in the crime, and are asking anyone with information to contact the department, or call the anonymous crime tip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
