(07:19) SEASIDE – Two Monterey County police unions are calling for the resignation of Seaside’s police chief. On Monday, Police Officer Associations in both Seaside and Pacific Grove reiterated their vote of no confidence against Police Chief Vicki Meyers. Chief Meyers has been criticized for failing to address the city’s recent spike in violence. The unions believe crime is spilling over into Pacific Grove, as a result. In a statement, Chief Meyers attributed the issue to financial struggles and understaffing. She added that the city is working to hire more police officers. (S.G.)
