June 30, 2016: Central Coast Residents Encouraged to Help Pets on Fourth of July

(10:14) CENTRAL COAST – Pet owners across the Central Coast are being advised to take steps to ensure the safety of their pets this Fourth of July. Every year, local animal shelters take in dozens of lost pets who have run away to escape the noise of Independence Day celebrations. In response, pet owners in the tri-county area are being asked to keep their animals indoors in a sheltered, quiet area and make sure that their pets are wearing identification tags. Residents are also being urged to never leave their pets outside unattended or take their pets to fireworks displays. (S.G.)
