June 27, 2017: Federal Grants for the Arts  

 (09:50) Congressman Jimmy Panetta announced today that 5 Central Coast arts programs received federal grants totaling $115,000 from the National Endowment for the arts.   The following are the organizations that received funding:  the Arts council of Santa Cruz, Cabrillo Music Festival, the Pajaro Valley Arts Council and the Regents of the University of California at Santa Cruz, which received 2 grants.   The National Endowment for the Arts was established by congress in 1965, and is the independent federal agency whose funding and support gives Americans the opportunity to participate in the arts, exercise their imaginations, and develop their creative capacities.
