January 17, 2017: Three New Systems Approach the Central Coast

(10:00) Central Coast – According to the National Weather Service, California received 25 percent of its average annual rainfall in just 11 days.  The central coast has three new systems approaching this week. Wednesday and Sunday are expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rain in the lower areas and in the Santa Cruz Mountains those numbers are expected to increase.  The Uvas Reservoir in Gilroy and Loch Lomond Reservoir in the Santa Cruz mountains are currently over 100 percent capacity.  Santa Cruz Public Works is advising residents in areas that are prone to flooding to pick up sandbags.
