All lanes of Highway-68 were reopened this afternoon after a portion of the highway was closed during this morning’s commute due to a car crashing into a telephone pole. Police say 42-year old Hermelinda Garcia was traveling Eastbound on Highway-68, when she slammed into the pole at around 2:30 a.m. Garcia received minor injuries only and was later arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence. All lanes were re-opened at around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
