HOLLISTER – Hollister city council members have approved a resolution to re-hire 6 full-time firefighters. That after the Fire Department asked the city to do that, because the Department failed to receive the federal funding it needed to pay those firefighters. Since the loss of the 6 firefighters, response times to fires have gone down and coverage has been tough. The city has approved the funds to rehire those firefighters, but wants it to just be a temporary fix.
