(16:08) SALINAS- The southbound lanes of Highway 101 were shut down in Salinas as the CHP investigated a fatality on Saturday. Shortly after 10:30 a.m. patrol units responded to a report of a person struck and killed in the south bound lanes of the freeway. Traffic was detoured around the area on th Boronada Road as an investigation was underway. The roadway was reopened several hours later.
