(16:30) Salinas – The groundbreaking of 90 unit apartment building in the Chinatown area of Salinas is scheduled for next month. The new development will include a combination of artistic and retail spaces as well as health and wellness programs on the bottom floor, with three floors of residential units above. This speedy development by company Midpen Housing is taking many efforts to ensure they will be a good fit for the community, claiming it will be affordable and reserve 20 units for individuals who are homeless or have experienced homelessness. The project is expected to be completed in October of 2019.
