GOV. STMT OVER MARINA SOLDIER’S DEATH 12-22-10 10:30 a.v.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued a statement today on the death of a Marina soldier, 19-year old Conrado D. Javier Jr.  “Private First Class Conrado Javier served our country with bravery and honor, and his selflessness is a true inspiration. We will forever be indebted to this courageous soldier for protecting our freedoms. Maria and I offer our most sincere sympathies to Conrado’s family and loved ones during this difficult time”. Private First Class Javier died December 19th in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany. In honor of Pfc. Javier, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
