Due to state funding cuts, the Superior Court in Watsonville, along with the DMV, will be closed today. Some offices at the courthouse in Santa Cruz will also be closed due to the furlough, however drop boxes will be available at Santa Cruz clerk’s offices up until 5 p.m. this evening. Court users are encouraged to visit santa cruz court dot org to pay traffice and criminal fines. Furloughs are expected on the 4th Friday of each month through next March. The mandatory furloughs reportedly amount to a nearly 14-percent pay cut for state workers.
