The current chilly temperature will help the grapevines go dormant for the winter, putting a good end to a tough season on local winegrape growers. Many growers, especially the coastal ones, experienced damage to their crops, due to the varied weather this past year. With the local harvest now over, marketers report that although yields may be down as much as 20 percent, they still expect the wine vintage from this year’s grapes to achieve high quality.
