Firefighters Make Progress With The Soberanes Fire

(0700) Monterey –  Cal fire officials have reported they are continuing to make progress with the Soberanes Fire and it is now 35 percent contained.  The fire that began on July 22,  from an illegal campfire that was left unattended in Garrapata State Park, has now burned  53,690 acres.    Cal Fire reported Thursday that 2 two people were injured due to the fire.  There is no further information on those injuries at this time, and who the victims are.  There are over 5,500 firefighters working on the Soberanes Fire and officials say they hope to have the fire fully contained by the end of the month.
