A small blaze in a beach cave near West Cliff Drive and John Street was put out by Santa Cruz firefighters on last (Tuesday) night. Firefighters scrambled down the rocks with a hose to extinguish the fire. The spot is a frequent spot for homeless campers and the city typically removes portable stoves, firewood and other debris from the spot.
