Fees Waived for Accessory Dwelling Units 09-25-18 15:50 DC

The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors today waived county fees for small accessory dwelling units. The three-year pilot program is for dwellings under 640-square-feet. Board of supervisors’ chairman Zach Friend said the savings total $73-hundred-dollars per unit.

Friend says removing those barriers may jump-start construction of small accessory dwellings – sometimes called “granny units” — that are an attractive and cost-effective way to create more housing in unincorporated areas of Santa Cruz county.
