(10:30) Santa Clara County – Santa Cruz County election officials will mail ballots to the 857 voters in the Lakeside Joint School District today, for the March 7 special school district parcel tax election. The question before voters is: Should the Lakeside Joint School District levy a temporary 8-year education parcel tax of $647, to preserve high quality academic programs for elementary and middle school students? The parcel tax would be used to attract/retain high quality teachers, keep instructional programs up to date, and provide a safe, well maintained learning environment.
