(10:25) SAlinas & Marina – A resolution has been made between the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and Walmart and Jet.com Inc. for misleading labels on plastic products. Walmart and Jet.com advertized and sold plastic products that were labeled as biodegradable or compostable in California. Three of the stores responsible for the misleading labeling were in Salinas and Marina. Walmart agreed to pay $875,000 in civil penalties and make additional payment of $50,000 to CAlRecycle to fund testing of plastic products marked to consumers as compostable or degradable. Jet.com agreed to pay $15,000 in civil penalties.
