A father died today after rescuing his 12-year-old daughter from the water at Carmel Beach.
Coast Guard officials say the girl was in a raft and started to get swept out to sea. Rescuers said the father was caught in the current after he was able to save his daughter.
It took rescuers several hours to find the man. He was taken to a Monterrey hospital where he was confirmed to have died.
