A 24-year-old man died early friday morning, after the vehicle he was riding in struck a pole in Hollister. Ryan mcfall was declared dead at the scene of the 3 a.m. accident, which took place at san benito street and union road. Mcfall was a 2006 graduate of san benito high school, and was a pitcher on the school’s baseball team. Authorities are investigating what caused the driver, 19-year old breanna stewart, to lose control, however alcohol is believed to have been a factor. Stewart is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. She was booked into san benito county jail and released after posting bail.
