The principal of salinas’ Everett alvarez high school returned to his post today. it is still unclear why district officials briefly removed darin Hershberger from the position, and transferred him to the special education department. The move could be connected to a controversy revolving around the school’s former quarterback, Michael turner, and his alleged violation of the team’s conduct. District Board members lifted turner’s suspension as well today, however they are yet to rule on whether the 16-year-old must transfer to another school. The return of Hershberger as principal was announced to school employees in an email, yesterday.
