A precautionary recall of bagged spinach was announced yesterday by a Salinas-based grower shipper due to possible salmonella contamination. Fresh Express voluntarily recalled nearly 3-thousand cases of the 9-ounce spinach bags after random sample testing revealed positive results for salmonella. The product shipped to the East Coast, no illnesses have been reported here locally in connection to the spinach recall.
