A doctor has ruled that 57 year-old Carl Benedict Guerin, who faces 16 felonies linked with lewd acts with children, is competent to stand trial. The doctor was asked to evaluate Guerin’s competency because, while in jail, Guerin decided to sever his testicles. Guerin is accused of molesting 7 girls from 2002 to 2012. Guerin remains in Santa Cruz County Jail.
