A retirement ceremony for a longtime police dog is scheduled to be held this evening. Ares, the Del Rey Oaks Police Dog, has been deployed more than 65 times, over the course of his 17 years in service. He and his handler have also worked with the U-S Secret Service as part of a vice presidential detail. The retirement ceremony is slated to take place at the Del Rey Oaks City Council Meeting that begins at 6 p-m this evening.
