(07:58) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – As mushroom season approaches, Santa Cruz County health officials are reminding foragers to familiarize themselves with poisonous species of fungi. In recent years, a number of deadly mushrooms have been picked and consumed, resulting in hospitalizations and, in one case, death. Anyone who becomes ill after eating wild mushrooms is urged to call 911 or contact California Poison Control. (S.G.)
