16:07 MONTEREY–The City of Monterey today delivered the cross originally placed earlier this year at Del Monte Beach to St. John’s Chapel in Monterey. The cross has been in storage since March 2016 and was left unclaimed. St. John’s Chapel, located at 1490 Mark Thomas Drive in Monterey, recently expressed interest in the cross and plans to place it in the island in the middle of the parish parking lot. “We are thrilled and honored to have the cross,” said Reverend Robert Ott, Rector of St. John’s. “It will be installed in an area accessible to the public at any time.” The cross is made of metal and spans 10 feet tall and 36 inches wide.
